Diphu, Jan. 11 (EMN):
The Dimasa Students’ Union (DSU) and Dimasa Khunang Hosom -DKH (Dimasa Gaon Bura Union), Karbi Anglong have asked the department of Land and Revenue under Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) to give a ‘precise explanation’ in regard to compensation of land along NH-29 to the villagers of Mohongdijua, Manja

In a joint press statement issued here on Tuesday, it stated that several land owners were being deprived of their land compensation in the ongoing four-lane road construction between the Doboka to Dimapur NH-29 stretch being taken up by National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL).

“We have been brought to our knowledge that some illegal activities such as duplicating of land pattas, issuing of periodic pattas etc., have been happening. The DSU and DKH want a clear explanation from the KAAC authority and Land and Revenue department, KAAC, why such unfair practices are happening. The organisations want a transparency on the matter,” it stated.

DSU and DKH also requested to the Chief Executive Member (CEM), Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang to look into the matter at the earliest.
