Dimapur Traffic Police receive hands-on training in emergency trauma care and pre-hospital stabilisation from CIHSR.
DIMAPUR — The Commissionerate of Police, Dimapur, in collaboration with the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR), conducted a two-day training programme on emergency care for Dimapur Traffic Police personnel on July 23 and 24.
During the workshop, traffic police personnel received structured hands-on training in emergency trauma care and pre-hospital stabilisation of road traffic accident victims, according to a press release.
The release noted that road traffic accidents continue to claim numerous lives and leave many others permanently disabled, often due to delayed or improper handling of victims immediately after a crash. Since traffic personnel are often the first responders to reach accident sites, equipping them with emergency care skills enables them to provide timely interventions during the critical golden hour, improving survival chances and reducing long-term disability risks.

Commissioner of Police Aotula T Imchen expressed appreciation to the director and staff of CIHSR and its Department of Emergency Medicine for partnering in this road safety initiative. She stated that the programme marks a significant step towards strengthening emergency response capabilities and enhancing trauma care outcomes for road accident victims in Nagaland.
At the conclusion of the training programme, all 25 participating personnel were presented with certificates of participation.
