Eastern Mirror Desk
Dimapur, Sep. 28 (EMN):
Business establishments in Dimapur will down shutters yet again, barely two weeks after the Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry imposed closure of business activities across the state to protest multiple taxations and other issues.

This time, Dimapur-based civil societies and organisations have called for a total ‘shutter down’ of commercial activities on September 30, from 6 am to 6 pm, to show resentment over the government’s recent order for ‘shifting of branches/cells to new Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex, Chümoukedima’, informed an update from Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF).

Bikash Brahma, Secretary (Admin), DDCF, informed Eastern Mirror that the shutter-down protest will be only in Dimapur and vehicular movement will not be disrupted.

While commercial establishments will be affected, medical dealers and pharmacies will be exempting from the bandh.

The DDCF also updated that Dimapur-based civil society organisations will submit an ultimatum to the chief minister through Dimapur Deputy Commissioner on September 29 morning (between 10 and 11 am), for which all the members of the affiliated tribal and non tribal communities have been requested to gather at the Dimapur DC Office junction by 9 am.
