Dimapur, Sep. 3 (EMN): Following the nationwide Unlock 4.0 in operation, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan has announced to enforce the new standard of operation (SOP) with immediate effect.
The DC stated this in his address during the meeting of the Dimapur district task force held on September 2 at the DC’ conference hall, a DIPR report stated. He informed that normal business activities would be allowed as per the latest SOP issued by the government of Nagaland with strict adherence to safety protocols.
The DC has also emphasised on the need to sensitise the people so that the masses understand the need and importance of taking individual precautions. He has further directed the outpost officers to form committees and enforce the safety guidelines strictly.
The DC has also impressed upon the colony/ ward/ GBs/ village council members in taking the lead and enforce the Covid-19 safety protocols.
While the numbers of Covid-19 cases have declined in the district, the DC reminded that one should not be complacent but continue to take all necessary precautions to prevent the virus spreading further.
Also speaking at the meeting, the chief medical officer (CMO), Dimapur, Dr. Mereninla Senlem informed that cases at Dimapur are coming down with good recover rate. She, however, felt that one needs to be more cautious especially during the month of September.
She expressed confidence that Dimapur could become a ‘green zone’ only if all the GBs from various colony/ ward and village council chairmen continue to work in unity.
Meanwhile, the house agreed on regulated opening of shops at New Market and Hazi Park (Hongkong) market in consonance with the latest SOP issued by the state government.
The report also stated that regulated opening of the two markets would start from September 4 as worked out by the DMC administrator Albert Ezung.
