Dimapur, Feb. 3 (EMN): Dimapur Slammers CC emerged as winners of the 6th Unity Cup T-20 cricket tournament.
The tournament was organised by Nepali Baptist Church, Chümoukedima Sports Ministry at Chümoukedima local ground from January 16 to February 3, with 25 teams taking part in the tournament.
Dimapur Slammers CC beat Borlengri Knights CC by seven wickets and 10 overs remaining
The winning team walked away with cash prize of INR 30,000 along with running trophy while the runner-up received INR 20,000 sponsored by DB Ghale and family, church member of NBC.
Among the individual awards, Apong of Dimapur Slammers was named the best bowler while Bishnu of Borlengri Knights CC was adjudged the best batsman. Imliwati of Big Shots CC was awarded player of the tournament. John of Borlengri Knights CC was awarded Emerging Player of the tournament.
The main guest of the closing ceremony, Shiva Kumar BK, encouraged the youths to be role models and to be the backbone of the society. He also wished the organisers and players the best in their future endeavours.
