Dimapur SBI official tests Covid-19 positive; elderly citizen’s test being awaited

Dimapur, July 18 (EMN): An official of the State Bank of India (SBI) and an elderly person in Dimapur reportedly tested positive for the Coronavirus on Saturday.

The SBI official’s health status was confirmed by the bank while the elderly person’s status was yet to be so. Confirmation about the report of the second case was being awaited at the time this story was being written.     

An administrative member of Eden Hospital in Dimapur informed that an elderly person aged approximately about 82 years was admitted to the hospital. While the case is suspected to be Covid-19, sources said it has yet to be confirmed.

The official informed that officials from the Dimapur chief medical officer’s establishment had reached Eden Hospital and they were assessing the situation while test results were being awaited.  

The official informed that the hospital currently is not admitting any patient.  

In another case, one SBI official who was recently transferred to Guwahati from the Dimapur Bazar Branch has tested positive for Covid-19.

According to a note appended by the chief manager of the SBI’s branch addressed to the deputy commissioner of Dimapur, the official had left for Guwahati by a hired vehicle from Dimapur on July 12 and on reaching he was quarantined immediately.  

He tested negative in the rapid test on July 14 but they also took a swab test on the same day, the result of which came positive on July 17, the updates stated.
