DIMAPUR — The Office of the Commissioner of Police (CP) Dimapur felicitated the children of unit personnel who made it to the merit list in the recently announced NBSE HSLC and HSSLC examinations at the CP office in Dimapur on Wednesday.

Those felicitated on the occasion were Constable Nungshipokba Longkumer’s daughter, Suyaben Longkumer, who secured the 10th rank in the HSLC examinations with 96.67% from Holy Cross Hr. Sec. School, Dimapur, and Constable (driver) Chandan Kumar Singh’s son, Rajnish Kumar Singh, who secured the 18th rank with 95.50% from MGM. Hr. Sec. School, Dimapur.

In his address, CP Dimapur, Kevithuto Sophie, stated that the felicitation programme, albeit small, was an acknowledgment of their achievement. He expressed that although they couldn’t offer substantial assistance, it was a gesture of sharing in their happiness for what they had accomplished.

The CP mentioned that it has been quite some time since the children of police personnel under Dimapur DEF and the commissionerate have excelled and secured positions within the top 20 ranks for both the HSLC and HSSLC examinations conducted by NBSE.

Sophie advised the toppers to acknowledge the efforts of their parents, who have given their best to them even with their limitations and also to acknowledge their teachers and to never let success get into their heads.

“There are many people who become proud and fall down. If you become proud, you will come down instead of climbing up,” he said, adding that they should be humble and disciplined and respect their parents no matter what their educational background may be.

Sophie encouraged them to choose the right field based on their aspirations and calling, rather than solely focusing on their rank. He cautioned them not to be swayed by their rankings.

He assured them that they would always be there as a motherly and fatherly figure to guide them in their own capacity. He advised them to always strive to mature into good citizens and become assets to society.

tEA: The Entrepreneurs Associates (tEA) organised a felicitation ceremony for Thejazenuo Angami, who secured the 9th position in the recently declared HSSLC exam results from Modern Higher Secondary School.

According to an update, the ceremony was held at tEA head office in Kohima on Wednesday. It was mentioned that Thejazenuo’s mother, Peteneinuo Angami, was a former street vendor who now operates a galho shop. She was a beneficiary of tEA’s financial linkages and support, benefiting from the zero-interest loans.

Neikule Doulo, the Executive Director of tEA, said on the occasion that tEA was founded to create wealth and opportunities for the people. She expressed happiness in witnessing tangible results through the lives of Peteneinuo and her daughter.

Thejazenuo was presented with a monetary award and a gift hamper to aid her ongoing educational pursuits, ensuring she possesses the essential resources to advance further in her academic journey.

During her speech, she conveyed her appreciation to her mother, who unilaterally raised her. Additionally, she expressed gratitude to tEA for the initiative and for acknowledging her accomplishments.

She announced her enrollment at St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama, where she will embark on her journey towards earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, with aspirations of pursuing a career as a chartered accountant in the future.

Her proud mother shared that during the pandemic and even when her shop got gutted in the Mao Market fire, tEA was there to support her.
