Dimapur police penalises nearly 5000 vehicles for traffic violation since last month

Dimapur, June 26 (EMN): Dimapur police has penalised 4,950 vehicles since last month for violating the odd-even traffic rule.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime), Relo Aye told Eastern Mirror that 395 persons were also penalised for not wearing masks, 18 persons for spitting in public and 45 persons for not maintaining social distance.

Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Rothihu Tetseo had in an order imposed odd-even rule for movement of vehicles within Dimapur district and extended it till June 30 as a measure to curb the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.

It was stated that INR 7 lakh has been collected as fine from traffic rule violators this year till May.
