Dimapur police nabs 15 offenders

Dimapur, Feb. 15 (EMN): Dimapur police have arrested 15 persons in the past one week from different locations for indulging in criminal activities. A press release issued by the additional commissioner of police and PRO Dimapur stated that the accused are lodged in different police stations.

On February 5, Dimapur police apprehended one person identified as Raja peyu of NSCN (R) Vinoka Zhimomi (23), son of Mughato of Kulhopu village in Zunheboto and presently a resident of Thahekhu village, for extorting money from butcher shops at Forest colony, Dimapur.

Police recovered cash amount of INR 1340 from his possession. Case in this connection has been registered at Dimapur West Police Station.

On the same day, Dimapur police arrested five persons for collecting illegal tax from truck drivers at 4th Mile, Dimapur. They were identified as Mughavi (32), son of Vitoshi of Phutomi village, Zunheboto, and presently a resident of 4th Mile, Dimapur; Zhimoka Zhimo (20), son Kuhovi Zhimo of Aghunato village, Zunheboto, and presently a resident of 5th Mile, Dimapur; Akum Yim (21), son of Hatong of Yamen village, Tuensang, and presently a resident of Duncan Bosti, Dimapur; Niloto Kinimi (20), son of Inaka Kinimi of Sematilla Bosti, Dimapur; Ronex (25), son of Pishampuhar of Tseminyu village and presently a resident of Padumpukhuri, Dimapur.

Case in this connection has been registered at Dimapur Diphupar Police station.

On February 8, Dimapur police apprehended one person namely Khetoka Aye (25), son of Khuvihe of Yehemo village under Suruhuto sub-division in Zunheboto and presently a resident of Middle Colony, Burma Camp, Dimapur, for collecting tax from truck drivers near Dellai Gate, Dimapur.

Police recovered cash of INR 14,600 from his possession. Case in this connection has been registered in Dimapur West Police Station.

On the same day, Dimapur police apprehended three persons namely Yeshito Sumi (44), son of Zheito Sumi of Luhozhe village under Niuland and presently a resident of New Colony, Burma Camp, Dimapur; Inahoto Chophy (25), son ofHonivi Chophy of Yehemi village under Suruhuto in Zunheboto and presently a resident of New Colony, Burma Camp, Dimapur; and Nikato Yeptho (25), son of Kahovi Yeptho of Katharu and presently a resident of Thilixu village, Dimapur.

They were arrested for collecting money from the truck drivers from Ghorapatti area, Dimapur. Police recovered cash amounting to INR 75,860, two mobile phones from their possession. Case in this connection has been registered at Dimapur West Police Station.

Also on February 8, Dimapur police AET apprehended one person identified as Vikiho Aye (44) for demanding illegal tax in the name of NSCN (K) from various business establishments. In this connection, a case has been registered at Dimapur East Police Station.

Earlier on February 6, police arrested one person identified as Chopika Chophy (23) for stealing three auto tyres, and a battery from a private residence.

On February 7, police also arrested one person identified as Suresh Thapa (23), son of Tek Bahadur Thapa, for stealing a scooter.

On February 8, police arrested three persons identified as Arosing Sangtam (32), Amosmai Phom (37) and Yhunthulo Rengma (28) for stealing mobile phone and INR 3200 cash from Blue Hill station area.
