Dimapur, March 23 (EMN): Dimapur Police arrested five persons from different locations in the past one week on charges of bike lifting and extortion.
Dimapur Police busted a gang of two-wheeler lifters following the arrest of four persons namely Toluka Chophy (30), Akato Chophy (37), Sukhato Achumi (26), and Kivigho Kiba.
Consequently, the special team of East Police Station recovered 18 stolen two wheelers including one Royal Enfield, three TVS Apache, two Hero Glamour, three Bajaj Platina, two Bajaj Discover, one Hero Splendour and six Scooty from different parts of Dimapur town.
A police report issued by an additional deputy commissioner of police and PRO stated that the remarkable breakthrough was the result of a well coordinated and resolute investigation spanning for about three weeks.
In a separate incident, Dimapur police recovered one mini-truck (407) from 4th Mile area on March 23. It stated that the vehicle was later handed over to Karbi Anglong Police, Assam.
Meanwhile, on March 17, Dimapur police arrested one person identified as Vinoka Sumi (32) on charges of extortion from a business establishment from 4th Mile area. It stated that a case in this connection has been registered at Diphupar Police Station.
