Dimapur, April 27 (EMN): Dimapur police arrested four persons from different locations in the past three days on charges of various offences. A press release from the additional deputy commissioner of police (crime) and PRO stated that the accused were booked under relevant sections of the law.
On April 25, Dimapur police arrested two individuals namely Angukavi Yeptho of Hekishe village and resident of Purana Bazaar, Dimapur, and Toshi Jamir of Asangma village and resident of Ura Villa, Dimapur, from Burma Camp area.
Police recovered 23 nos. of non-local ID card in the name of NSCN/GPRN (K), six nos. of NNC (NA) tax slip, 12 nos. of FGN tax slip, two nos. of NNC Parent Body tax slip, five nos. of NNC/NPGN tax slip, and cash of INR 750 from their possession.
It stated that a case in this connection has been registered at East Police Station, Dimapur.
On April 27, Dimapur police also arrested one person namely Wangzan Konyak of Shangnyu village and resident of Burma Camp, Dimapur, from 3rd Mile area while extorting money from truck drivers in the name of NSCN (IM) and seized a cash of INR 2500 from his possession.
A case in this connection has been registered at East Police Station, Dimapur.
In another incident on April 25, Dimapur police arrested one person identified as Salim Uddin of Ratanpur village from Karimganj district in Assam.
Report stated that the individual was wanted by Karimganj police in connection with a theft case. Police recovered nine jewellery items from his possession.
It stated that an individual along with the stolen items were handed over to the Karimganj police.
Meanwhile, in connection with a vehicle theft case registered in Chandmari Police Station in Assam, one Bolero pick-up was recovered by the personnel of East Police Station on April 27 from Dimapur town. The vehicle was consequently handed over to Assam Police, report added.
