Dimapur Phom Students’ Union ‘Ensemble Forts 2017’ underway

Dimapur, July 20 (EMN): The Dimapur Phom Students’ Union (DPSU) along with the Phom Churches-Dimapur Phom Baptist Church, Signal Phom Baptist Church, Phom Baptist Attoi Diphupar and Chumukhedima Phom Baptist Church) organised its 1st Dimapur Phom Churches Sports Meet 2017’ with the theme “Ensemble Forts” meaning “Together We Are Stronger”. The two day event which commenced on Thursday is being held at DDSC Stadium. L. Menhahu former President ENSF as the guest of honour. The former student leader motivated the youths of different Phom Churches to be united and grow stronger together. Acknowledging the Dimapur Phom Students’ Union for organising such a unique historic event creating a connection between students’ organisation and church which is first of its kind, Menhahu observed if such is organised annually by the Churches and students’ organisation than it will build a strong foundation for the future generation. Continuation of such event will be resourceful for the youths, he opined. Also, the former student leader called on the participants to inculcate team spirit not only among themselves but along with God to succeed. The two day event includes volleyball for men and women, football (men), chess, arm wrestling, 100m and 200m race, high jump, long jump, shot-put and tug-of-war.
