Thousands of people thronged Super Market area as the six-day long Dimapur Night Carnival got underway Monday evening here at Dimapur.
The carnival organized by Dimapur District Administration, Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), Business Association Nagaland (BAN), Dimapur District Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DDCCI), Dimapur Press Club (DPC), The Garden, Nagaland & Printing Solutions (NPS), Pheto Music, Crescendo, Dimapur Police and Development Authority of Nagaland (DAN) is aimed at promoting local entrepreneurs and local talents. The carnival is also to provide people with time where they can spend quality time with friends and families and enjoy nightlife.
The residents of Dimapur will get a chance to taste Naga cuisines from food stalls besides sales at kids’ corners, product sale and display of handlooms, handicrafts, dry flowers etc.The night carnival which will start from 5 pm every evening will also witness entertainment from various artists such as winners of Naga Orpheus hunt; You Know You Got It; Naga Talents Promo; Naga Hindi Voice and Kids for Fame.
On December 16, solo artists would also be performing while there would be a special appearance by former chief secretary Alemtemshi Jamir. December 17, six live bands would enthrall the public while December 18 would witness dance competitions (individual/group) and special appearance by Element Crew.
On December 19, a Hindi event featuring 10 artists and a special appearance by Alo Wanth will be staged. The competition prizes would be sponsored by The Garden.
On December 20, there will be Christmas Carol Competition and there would also be a special appearance by Dr Nicky Kire and Hello Radio.
