- DIMAPUR — The Dimapur Naga Students' Union
(DNSU) condemned the recent incident of a brutal physical assault on a student
of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS), Kohima, which resulted in
life-threatening injuries.
- The DNSU, in a note, stated that it is deeply saddened and
appalled to learn that the victim, a Class 10 student, was subjected to a premeditated
and violent attack by fellow students, resulting in severe internal injuries,
including a ruptured stomach and subsequent peritonitis.

- Stating that such barbaric acts have no place in any
civilised society, especially within educational institutions meant to foster a
safe and nurturing environment for students, the union noted that this was not
a mere act of bullying but a calculated and heinous assault that has had
devastating consequences.
- It urged all stakeholders, including educational institutions,
civil society organisations, and student bodies, to collectively denounce this
act of violence and stand in solidarity against such atrocities.
- The DNSU called upon the authorities to conduct a swift and
thorough investigation into this incident and ensure that the perpetrators are
brought to justice.
- “We demand that stringent action be taken against those
found guilty, in accordance with the law, to serve as a deterrent against
future acts of violence,” it said, while extending prayers and wishes for the
speedy recovery of the victim.
- It also urged all educational institutions and parents to
take proactive measures to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
