  • DIMAPUR — The Dimapur Naga Students' Union (DNSU) condemned the recent incident of a brutal physical assault on a student of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS), Kohima, which resulted in life-threatening injuries.

  • The DNSU, in a note, stated that it is deeply saddened and appalled to learn that the victim, a Class 10 student, was subjected to a premeditated and violent attack by fellow students, resulting in severe internal injuries, including a ruptured stomach and subsequent peritonitis.

  • Stating that such barbaric acts have no place in any civilised society, especially within educational institutions meant to foster a safe and nurturing environment for students, the union noted that this was not a mere act of bullying but a calculated and heinous assault that has had devastating consequences.

  • It urged all stakeholders, including educational institutions, civil society organisations, and student bodies, to collectively denounce this act of violence and stand in solidarity against such atrocities.

  • The DNSU called upon the authorities to conduct a swift and thorough investigation into this incident and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

  • “We demand that stringent action be taken against those found guilty, in accordance with the law, to serve as a deterrent against future acts of violence,” it said, while extending prayers and wishes for the speedy recovery of the victim.

  • It also urged all educational institutions and parents to take proactive measures to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
