DIMAPUR — The Sanitation Branch of Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has appealed to all residents and commercial establishments within its jurisdiction to dispose their wastes by strictly adhering to the allotted time window period from 6 pm to 5 am.
An update from DMC Sanitation Branch stated that public continues to deposit wastes even beyond the prescribed hours particularly after the completion of scheduled collection despite prior instructions.
It pointed out that such actions are resulting in unsanitary conditions, public inconvenience and defacement of common areas. It added that the indiscriminate disposal of garbage beyond the stipulated time window not only hampers the cleanliness efforts of the municipal sanitation staff but also poses serious health and environmental hazards.
