Dimapur Municipal Council cracks down on staff attendance

DIMAPUR — The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) issued a notification requiring all DMC staff to arrive at the office by 10:30 am. They are also mandated to sign the daily attendance register both upon arrival and departure at 4:30 pm in the establishment branch.

In the notification, issued on Aug. 3, DMC chairperson Hukheto Yepthomi announced that the official office hours will be from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm. The attendance register will be closed at 10:30 am sharp and kept with the chairperson until the evening when it will be made available for staff to sign, at the time of departure.

 “All staff should be punctual to office and perform his/her assigned duties sincerely without any negligence. Any staff who fails to put his/her signature in the attendance register in the stipulated time as given shall be marked absent and necessary salary shall be deducted from the monthly wages,” the notification read.

Further, necessary disciplinary action shall be initiated against any staff who are absent from duty, without prior leave sanction or valid reason, the chairperson notified, adding that the order would come into force with immediate effect.
