- DIMAPUR — The two minor bridges located near
Dellai gate and police check point at Rilan village in Dimpaur on NH-36 is yet
to be open for traffic and public.
- Reconstruction of the two bridges, which started on December
23, 2024, was mandated to be completed by March 2025, and keeping up with the
timeline, the development works on the two minor bridges were completed by
March 15. This was updated by the project manager on Monday.
- The work “Development of existing 2-lane pavement including
strengthening of NH 36 from km 160/000 km to 166/800 in Dimapur city portion in
the state of Nagaland on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) mode”
was constructed by Naagaamii Infratech Pvt. Ltd. The dimensions of both the
bridges are estimated to be 12 metres long and 7 metres wide.
- As per the project manager, the two minor bridges are yet to
be open for traffic and to the public, as both the bridges are currently in the
curing period for one month and another one week for safety reasons.
- Also, he updated that the two bridges will likely be opened
in the month of May after they receive the green signal from the department.
- “Just minor touch-ups are remaining, including bitumen work
for a few metres between the two bridges, which can happen only after the
cooling period of the two minor bridges,” he said.
