The DPDBs of Dimapur and Meluri approved the 2026–27 LADP schemes, reviewed development proposals, and discussed key administrative and welfare initiatives during their monthly meetings.
DIMAPUR — The monthly meetings of the District Planning and Development Boards (DPDBs) of Dimapur and Meluri were held on Monday, during which the boards approved the Local Area Development Programme (LADP) schemes for 2026–27 and reviewed various development and administrative matters.
Dimapur: The DPDB Dimapur meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner's Conference Hall and attended by Advisor for Industries & Commerce and DPDB Chairperson Hekani Jakhalu. The meeting was chaired by ADC Dimapur, Dr. Diana Patton.
According to a DIPR report, the meeting began with a PowerPoint presentation on the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), Nagaland, by State Nodal Officer, ABDM, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Nyanthung Kikon. He highlighted the objectives and implementation of the mission, noting that Dimapur has been identified as a model district under the programme.
The board approved the Local Area Development Programme (LADP) for 2026–27.
It also approved the registration of Covenant Foundation under the Societies Registration Act.
In the education sector, the board approved the change of nomenclature of ITIKI Montessori School to ITIKI School, Darogapathar, Dimapur; the upgrade of Grace Fountain School, Duncan Bosti, from Class V to Class VIII; and grant-in-aid for Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School, Milan Mandir.

However, the proposal for change of ownership of Zakiesato Memorial Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, was deferred for further consideration.
Concluding the meeting, Jakhalu urged board members to work with greater dedication and emphasised the importance of regular attendance at DPDB meetings.
She said members unable to attend should ensure that a representative attends on their behalf.
Meluri: The monthly DPDB meeting of Meluri was held at the DB's Court, Deputy Commissioner's Office, under the chairmanship of Advisor for NSDMA & Inland Waterways and DPDB Chairman, Z Nyusietho Nyuthe.
After reviewing the minutes of the previous meeting, Nyuthe presented the LADP schemes for 2026–27. Following deliberations, the board unanimously approved the proposed schemes.
Nyuthe also called upon all departments to work collectively and contribute ideas and efforts towards the overall development of Meluri district.
ADC Meluri, Shelly Katiry, informed the departments that a district-wide mass social work would be conducted on the third Saturday of every month.
The meeting also featured a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the activities of the Forest Department, Meluri.
