Dimapur, March 27

Dimapur has now a registration and tracking module for foreigners visiting Nagaland. A Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) has been opened in Dimapur, and in the capital town, Kohima.
The resolution to open an FRO in the State was decided during a workshop conducted by officials of the National Informatics Centre of Kolkata, Guwahati, and Kohima on March 14, focusing on Immigration Visa Foreigners Registration & Tracking (IVFRT) module. The event was held in the office of the district’s Superintendent of Police Office.
The module is now available in the district of Kohima and Dimapur for the convenience of the foreigners visiting and studying in Nagaland.
The Government of India seeks to insure only legitimate foreigners travel within the country, the district police administration said in a press release received on March 27. The entire state movement and departure of foreigners in India are regulated by Foreigners Act 1946, Foreigner Act 1948, Registration of Foreigner Act 1949, Registration of Foreigners Rule 1992 and Passport (entry into India) Act 1920 and execution order passed by Government of India time to time. All Foreigners are required to have a valid passport and Visa for travel and stay. The immigration process consists of entry, stay, movement and exit of foreigners. All foreigners visiting India on long term (more than 180 days) are required to get themselves registered with the FRO concerned having jurisdiction over the place where the Foreigners intend to stay within 14 days of arrival.
The core objective of the IVFRT is to develop and implement an integrated service delivery for legitimate travelers while strengthening security. The workshop focused mainly on how to fill C-Form and S-Form.
Foreigners arriving and staying in the country should report to the Superintendent of Police-FRO of the district at the earliest. The C-Form relates to furnishing information by hotels/guest house/hospital/association.
Institutions of education accommodating foreign students are required to submit details in S-Form. The online module will make the process effortless for both hoteliers and institutions to submit the form without any hustle. One may visit the link www.indianfrro.gov.in/frro/FormC (for accommodation) and www.indianfrro.gov.in/fsis (for institutes).
MHA is implementing Mission Mode Project (MMP) on Immigration, Visa and Foreigners Registration Tracking under the National e-Governance Plan. The project envisages facilities to travelers including online application from a 24X7 online channel, phone support and email/SMS report for dissemination of information, application status and feedback.
Foreigners in India may require various services like registration, visa extension, conversion visa endorsement in case of foreigner child born in India etc. For this purpose, the ministry has developed centralized software to facilitating foreigners
