Dimapur Govt. College sends off retiring professor

Dimapur, April 3 (EMN): Dimapur Government College said farewell to one of its longest serving associate professor, Bendangsangba Ao who was also the head of Commerce department on April 3. A press release from the college updated about the vent on Tuesday. Known for his cheerfulness and mischievous sense of humour, he was a teacher, mentor and guide to students and colleagues alike, he press release stated. Bendangsangba is said to have joined Dimapur Government College in June 1987. In his 30 years association with the institution, the college described him as a closet-engineer / inventor / landscape-designer who never hesitated to utilize his multiple skills and talents or time and energy for the benefit of the college. The college expressed that in his retirement from active service, ‘the college loses an ardent historian who could trace in detail the saga of DGC’s growth from its humble beginnings, through its troubled times when it was fighting for its survival to the dignified position of today.’ Bendang is said to have donated generously to several college associations and committees of which he was a founding member. He also pledged his continued participation in many of the ongoing developmental projects in the college. The college acknowledged him for his invaluable service and saluted the integrity, sincerity and devotion that he exemplifies.
