Dimapur gears up to welcome Modi

The Naga Council has set the ceremonial itinerary and work for civil organizations as part of preparations to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he visits Nagaland during the hornbill festival.
The organization met on November 27 to discuss the public reception of the prime minister of India who will be landing in Dimapur on his way to Kohima on November 30. The council issued a note on Thursday.According to the note, following tribes / community / organizations listed will be arranging parades of community members in full traditional attires to line up all along the airport road to welcome the visiting prime minister:
1st category i.e minimum 100 persons: Angami, Ao, Sumi, Lotha, Chakhesang,
Sangtam, Yimchunger, Rengma.
2nd Category i.e Minimum 50 persons: Zeliang, Konyak, Phom, Khiamniungan, Pochury, Tangkhul, Puomai, Mao, Anal, Rongmei, Kuki, Muslim, Marwari, Bengali, Gorkha, Tibetian, Bihari, Naga Women Hoho of Dimapur, Dimapur Urban Colony Council Chairmen Federation, Dimapur (sadar) GBs’ Union.
Village councils along National Highway 39 up to Chumukedima are entrusted to mobilize villagers and display a welcome banner in their area. They are to line up along the highway in their respective jurisdictions to welcome the visiting prime minister.
A mass cleanliness drive will be undertaken along airport road and national highway 39 on November 28 starting from 6 am morning. All presidents of tribal organizations and community are to mobilize members to participate in the mass cleaning drive.
The council has requested all the residents of Dimapur to participate in the work and the public reception compulsorily to welcome the prime minister of India.
