Eastern Mirror Desk Dimapur, March 25: All the vehicles requisitioned by the Dimapur district administration for the Lok Sabha election on April 11 were summoned to Dimapur Stadium on Monday. This year, the administration has decided to make use of ‘only commercial vehicles and a majority of government vehicles.’ A reliable source told Eastern Mirror that the administration did not want to requisition private vehicles “due to public inconvenience and grievances.” “Most families have only one car, and one member who drives, so it causes a lot of hardship for the entire family in the days leading up to the elections,” said the source. But if the other districts need vehicles, some private cars may be requisitioned, according to the source. It was informed that some vehicles will be provided to the districts of Zunheboto and Peren as there are shortages in the two districts. 2000 officials to be trained Lipokmeren Imchen from the National Informatics Centre informed that this year around 2000 government officials are being trained for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Dimapur. “The second phase of training will be held on March 29 and the 30th,” said Imchen. He also informed that out of the 321 polling stations in the district, around 40 will be under camera surveillance.
