Dimapur forum celebrates National Youth Day
Dimapur, Jan. 12 (EMN): Commemorating the 157th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the Vivekananda Welfare Foundation (VWF) in collaboration with the Bharat Vikas Parisahd celebrated National Youth Day besides the 5th foundation day of the VWF in the Durga Mandir auditorium on January 12 at the old daily market in Dimapur.
National youth Day is celebrated on 12 January, also the birthday anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. In 1984, the government of India declared the day as National Youth Day. Since 1985 the event is being celebrated in India every year.
Speaking during the programme, the deputy commissioner of Dimapur Anoop Khinchi emphasised on not just following and advocating the legacy of the Swami Vivekananda, but living according to his philosophy.
Stating that Swami Vivekananda was truly a youth icon of the country, Khinchi urged the youths to start working hard and decide for themselves what they want to pursue life, and to never look back until the goal is achieved.
Encouraging the youths, the government servant said nothing is impossible to be achieved if the individuals are true to their selves and have the will and determination to succeed in life.
The administrator also emphasised on the importance of mental and physical fitness in day-to-day life. He encouraged the youths to meditate so that one can remain calm and firm in their decisions even when faced with obstacles in life.

Dance and music performances from the youths also marked the programme.
