Dimapur, Feb. 19 (EMN): Dimapur Excise personnel manning the New Field Chech Gate intercepted an Imphal bound truck bearing registration No. MN0 2G 2290 and seized 524 cases of assorted liquor on February 19 at around 5:30 am.
An update from the superintendent of Excise and Prohibition, T Arilong Longkumer, stated that the consignment was recovered concealed beneath several bags of potato. It added that one person identified as Nongmaithem Sabitkumar Singh (29), a resident of Wangjing in Thoubal, Manipur, was arrested and booked under the relevant sections of NLTP Act 1989. As per the investigation, it stated that the IMFL consignment was loaded at Guwahati and was on its way to Imphal, Manipur.
