The Dimapur DPDB approves new societies, reviews Sustainable Development Goals, and officially receives a vehicle for Child Helpline 1098.

DIMAPUR — The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) of Dimapur held its monthly meeting at the Deputy Commissioner's (DC) conference hall on Wednesday to review key developmental agendas, while a child rescue van was also formally handed over.
According to a DIPR report, the meeting was chaired by DC Dr. Tinojongshi Chang. Advisor for Industries and Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu, welcomed officials to the new office at Padumpukhuri and assured them that their time there would be meaningful.
Stressing the importance of the board, Jakhalu said that the DPDB is not merely a body for the registration of societies but plays a significant role in governance and development.
She pointed out that key decisions are taken at the platform and highlighted the need for officers to work collectively. She further underscored the importance of convergence, urging officers to understand each other's roles and extend cooperation.
Gratitude was also expressed to the Advisor for Labour, Employment and Skill Development and Excise and Chairman of the DPDB Dimapur, Moatoshi Longkumer, for the release and formal handing over of a child rescue van, along with its keys and documents, under Child Helpline 1098.

During the meeting, the board approved and recommended the registration of Tsungchir Education Society and the Dimapur Commissionerate Community Alliance for Resilient Empowerment Society (D-CARE). It also deliberated on the issuance of a no-objection certificate regarding the change of ownership name of Zasisivikho Zakiesato Memorial Higher Secondary School, directing the District Education Officer to provide clarification and verification.
The board further approved and recommended a no-objection certificate for the establishment of the Asian Mission Institute, which will offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and ITEP courses in arts, science, and commerce.
Dr. Chang informed that Census 2026 would be conducted in June and reminded officers to submit the names of enumerators. He stated that the census process would be app-based and would also allow self-enumeration.
On Sustainable Development Goals, he noted that Dimapur district ranks 10th among 158 districts in the Northeast region. While terming the achievement commendable, he pointed out the need for further improvement and informed that a review meeting would be held on April 24.
Highlighting the importance of the Special Intensive Revision, he described it as a comprehensive, house-to-house, and time-bound exercise aimed at updating and verifying electoral rolls.
Prior to the meeting, Advisor Moatoshi Longkumer, in the presence of Hekani Jakhalu and Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, formally handed over the keys and documents of the child rescue van to Child Helpline 1098 Dimapur at the DC office in Purana Bazar.
