Dimapur, April 30 (EMN): The district administration of Dimapur has issued a warning to business establishments in the commercial center to stop hiking prices of goods. They are warned that action would be taken against them.

The administration also specified the construction material cement.

There are increasing indications that business establishments including small shops, and even vegetable sellers, are charging exorbitant prices for a variety of goods from vegetables to even popular areca nut mixtures such as ‘Shekhar.’

The department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) issued on Thursday an update from the administration’s meeting.

The IPR stated complaints from the public against increased prices of goods including for construction materials such as cement.

In this regard, the deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Anoop Khinchi, has warned that strict action would be initiated against the offenders.

Khinchi said this during a meeting with the district-level price monitoring committee, on April 30, in the conference hall of the DC’s office in Dimapur, the IPR stated.

The deputy commissioner has directed the Dimapur Municipal Council and administrative officers to take strict action and ‘book those persons who are indulging in price rise,’ the IPR stated.
