Dimapur DC fixes opening time for food essentials, grocery shops

Dimapur bakeries and pan shops ordered to close

List of buildings and institutions designated quarantines    

Dimapur, March 24 (EMN): The government of Nagaland has stipulated the period during which essential goods and food essential stores in Dimapur are to open. They are to open only from 8 am to 2 pm.  

Further, the district administration of Dimapur has ordered closure of all bakeries and ‘paan’ shops till further orders.  

A set of different press releases from the Dimapur administration was received here on March 24 stating the new directives as the government sets in place measures against the spread of the coronavirus in Nagaland.  

‘With the view to contain and prevent the spread of the Novel Coronavirus, COVID-19, and to have more effective monitoring system, all the shops selling essential commodities under Dimapur town are hereby directed to keep their shops open from 8 am to 2 pm only. The shops will remain closed the rest of the time,’ stated the press release from the Dimapur district Deputy Commissioner Anoop Khinchi.

‘The general public is also informed to do their shopping at the time period as mentioned above. This order comes with immediate effect and will remain in force till further order.’

Bakeries and pan shops

 ‘In exercise of the power conferred by the Nagaland epidemic disease (Covid-19) Regulation, 2020 under the epidemic Disease Act 1897, all the bakeries and paan shops are directed to close down till further order,’ the second order from the administration stated.

Quarantines

In exercise of powers conferred by regulations issued by the government of Nagaland under the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897, no. 3 of 1897, the district administration has designated a number of buildings as quarantine locations in the event of any exigencies.

1.            Nagaland State Sports Academy, boys and girls’ hostel, department of Youth Resources and Sports.

2.            New Deputy Commissioner’s office complex, Chumukidema.

3.            Training Research and Monitoring Institute, Purana Bazaar, office of the Deputy Director, Treasuries and Accounts.

4.            School of Engineering and Technology residential campus and administrative block, Nagaland University:

i.              Barak Boys hostel, Landmark colony

ii.             Doyang  Boys hostel, Fellowship colony

iii.            Dikhu Boys hostel, PWD colony

iv.           Girls hostel, Landmark colony
