Our Reporter
Dimapur, May 23 (EMN):
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan, on Monday clarified that the advisory issued on May 21 about the RCC Bridge over Dhansiri River (Tributary) is the bridge connecting Shozukhu village (Dimapur side) and Zukihe village (Niuland side), and not the one at Purana Bazaar as mentioned.

This goes on to tell that the RCC Bridge over Dhansiri River at Purana Bazaar is safe for the vehicles to ply but not the one connecting Shozukhu village and Zukihe village until the state authorities certify it.

The DC had earlier stated in an advisory that his office had received a letter from the state’s Public Work Department (PWD) Engineer-in-chief that the bridge over Dhansiri River at Purana Bazaar no guarantee of the structural safety and stability as it was completed without the authorisation and approval of the department. It also informed the public not to ply on the said bridge until the department certifies the structural safety with technical experts.
