Dimapur, June 1 (EMN): With more than half of the Covid-19 patients being treated in Dimapur, the district task force (DTF) has recommended the administration to keep “buffer stock” of ventilators, monitors, and regulators, according to a DIPR report on Monday.

The DTF decided that the deputy commissioner would write on the matter to the “higher authority for action to be taken”.

Members of the task force also expressed the need for TrueNat machines in Dimapur to conduct more tests per day as more trains with stranded citizens would be arriving this week.

Status of BSL-2 lab

The deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Anoop Khinchi, said that it would take another 15 to 20 days to get the BSL-2 lab in Dimapur commissioned.

Khinchi informed that currently there are 46 quarantine centres in Dimapur with 4085 beds.

Chief Medical Officer of Dimapur, Dr. Tia Pongener, informed that healthcare workers are focussing on the passengers of Chennai train and trying to isolate the inmates.

As of now, 189 of them have been moved to isolation centres and kept in separate rooms, he said.

The medical superintendent of Dimapur, Dr. Kheshito expressed the urgent need to install a dialysis machine at the Dimapur Covid-19 hospital.

Market timing changed

Citing safety and interest of the citizens, the district task force has reduced the time-slot for marketing activities in Dimapur; from June 2, shops will be allowed to open from 9 am to 2 pm only.

Earlier, the duration was 9 am to 4 pm.

It was also decided that “for the time being”, malls, showrooms, restaurants will not be allowed to open. The restriction includes takeaway restaurant services as well.

Hardware shops will be allowed to open from 6 am to 10 am.

Also, the task force decided that the odd-even traffic rule warrants stricter implementation, except for the exempted categories. It requested the district police for strict monitoring.
