Dimapur, June 29 (EMN): Dimapur District Citizens Forum (DDCF), which is represented by tribal bodies as well as different communities of Dimapur, and the Gorkha Elder’ Forum (GEF) have strongly condemned the PIL filed against the proposed imposition of ILP in Dimapur by one Ashwini Kumar Upaday in the Supreme Court of India.

DDCF has condemned the PIL during its meeting held on June 28, which was attended by representatives of various tribes and communities of Dimapur along with its advisory board members.

DDCF president, Joseph Lemtur, stated that the house unanimously agreed to visit Delhi, if required, and apprise Ashwini Kumar about the situation arising in Nagaland after he filed the PIL and also urged him to withdraw the same in the interest of all.

In a separate statement, Gorkha Elders’ Forum made it clear that the Gorkha community in Dimapur is in no way connected to the PIL nor has any of its members met Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay on the matter.

The forum expressed shock that its community name has been tagged as a party to the PIL. The forum has demanded Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay to withdraw the PIL and remove its community name immediately.
