  • DIMAPUR — Dimapur and Chümoukedima registered victories in their respective group-stage matches in the ongoing 5th Late G Rio Memorial Men’s U19 Inter-District Cricket Tournament, held at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

  • According to an update, Dimapur produced a one-sided performance to defeat Tuensang by a massive margin of 284 runs. Batting first, Dimapur posted 308 all out in 47.4 overs. The innings was anchored by Anirudh Yadav, who scored a fluent 102 off 86 balls, while Shiva Yadav added 61 more.

  • Tuensang’s bowlers found some success, with Shumritsa picking up three wickets for 57 runs and Phololi finishing with figures of three for 75.

  • However, Tuensang’s batting collapsed under pressure and the team was bowled out for just 24 runs in 11.5 overs—one of the lowest totals recorded in the tournament so far. Zakaria Hussain was the top scorer with five runs, while the rest of the batting order failed to reach double digits.

  • Dimapur’s Samir Ali delivered a devastating spell of fast bowling, claiming six wickets for just three runs in 3.5 overs. He was named Player of the Match for his match-winning performance.

  • Chümoukedima wins by 5 wickets

  • At the Sovima Cricket Ground, Chümoukedima defeated Zunheboto by five wickets in a match that featured a strong all-round performance from Bendang Wapang.

  • Zunheboto, after winning the toss and electing to bat, were bowled out for 124 in 32 overs. Nikato Zhimo top-scored with a composed 53 off 55 balls, but the innings was curtailed by Wapang’s effective spell of four for 50 in eight overs.

  • Chümoukedima successfully chased the target in 33 overs, finishing at 130 for five. The innings was anchored by Keshav Thakur, who scored 42 off 84 balls, while Aloto Sumi chipped in with an aggressive 41 off 24 deliveries to finish the game. Despite Zunheboto’s efforts to apply pressure with the ball, including a tight spell from Romit Saha, the total proved insufficient to defend.
