Dimapur CC enters semi-final; Organisers beat TNB in exhibition

Dimapur Cricket Club today became the last team to enter into the semi-final of the ongoing 5th Silver Cup T-20 Cricket Tournament organised by Youth Department of Nepali Baptist Church Kohima at Local Ground.
Playing the last of the quarter-final match, Dimapur CC defeated Deenix CC, Mon by 61 runs. Deenix won the toss and elected to field. However, Dimapur CC scored 183 runs losing 8 wickets in 20 overs with Suni scoring 46 runs and Aosashi contributing 44 runs. Deenix bowlers Stephen and Raju took three and two rival wickets respectively.Chasing the target, Deenix CC Mon were all out in 17.9 overs scoring 121 runs. Dimapur CC bowlers Manilong claimed five wickets to receive the match ball while Aosashi claimed three wickets and supported by is 44 runs was adjudged the man of the match.
The fourth quarter final was graced by Northern Angami Youth Organisation president Peter Rutsa as the match patron.
Meanwhile, in playing an exhibition to raise fund for the cause of Children Living with HIV/AIDS, Organising Committee defeated The Naga Blog by six runs in an excitement filled match. Winning the toss organizers elected to bat and set a target of 161 runs losing 9 wickets in 20 overs with Jeet scoring highest 34 runs, Benjamin – 30 and Kiran – 23 runs. TNB bowler Shatilo claimed four rival wickets.
Chasing the target TNB managed to 156 runs losing eight wickets in 20 overs with Shatilo scoring highest 45 runs and Noune supporting with 21 runs. Organising Committee bowlers Meghraj and Robi claimed two wickets each. Shatilo was adjudged man of the match for his four wickets and 45 runs.
Former NBC Kohima secretary Md. Israel was the match patron.
