Dimapur board approves local devp. project

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 10: The monthly meeting of Dimapur District Planning & Development Board for the month of August was held in the DC’s Conference Hall on August 10. The meeting was presided over by parliamentary secretary for I & FC Jacob Zhimomi. Zhimomi is also the chairman of the board. During the meeting, the members of the board approved the Local Area Development Program (LADP) for the year 2016-2017. Also, based on verification reports submitted by the verification committee, various matters concerning registration of local organizations, among others, were taken up. The organizations in concern are: Immanuel Multipurpose Welfare Society of Khekiho Colony in Kuhobuto Town; Living for Environment Society of Indisen village, and the Immanuel College Alumni Association of Lengrijan. Besides, a matter of transfer was addressed. The board approved the transfer of Sunrise Secondary School from Tokiye in Zunheboto District to Padam Pukhuri in Dimapur district, to be forwarded to the government. A PowerPoint presentation of departmental activities was presented by officials of the department of Power and Forest during the meeting. The State Leprosy Officer, Dr. Ahu Sekhose, informed the house that due to high prevalence of leprosy in the district the department will be sending their staffers for house-to-house screening. He appealed to all the members present in the meeting to help spread the message in their offices and neighborhood. Further, the deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome, reminded all heads of offices to send public information officers for ‘RTI training’ at the DC’s conference hall on the 23rd and the 24th of this month. All heads of offices are also to visit the DDSC stadium ‘in the coming days to see the ongoing works assigned to their departments for Independence Day celebration,’ he added. In another matters, the chairman of the board has thanked the state government for the ‘successful completion of Dhobinalah-Thahekhu road.’
