DIMAPUR — The Dimapur Bengali Samaj (DBS) has extended festive greetings on the occasion of Baisakhi, Poila Boisakh and Ramnavami.

“Poila Boisakh marks the advent of the Bengali New Year and is the new financial year for the community. The occasion sees gift giving, visiting relatives and friends and organising cultural events. It is a social, cultural and national festival and is celebrated with the rendition of songs and presentation of dance items,” DBS president Kamala Kanta Paul said in a greeting message.

Wishing a robust and meaningful New Year to the Bengali community, the DBS hoped that the New Year “fulfill all aspirations and expectations.”

“May the pious occasion of Ramnavami bring to all the believers abundant joy, happiness and serenity. May the blessings of Bhagwan Ram enthuse people with a new sense of love, religiosity and fellow- feeling for entire mankind,” it added.
