DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 29

Over 50 Special Protection Guard (SPG) personnel are now keeping a strict vigil in Dimapur a day ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s arrival. The SPG team is being headed by DIG Srivastava, sources said. Narendra Modi will arrive in Dimapur around 6 pm from Imphal. Already four smaller choppers are in Dimapur airport which will be used to transport the Prime Minister and his team to Kohima on Monday morning. Narendra Modi will be arriving in a bigger Indian Air Force chopper from Imphal. Two more Indian Air Force choppers are also part of the Prime Minister’s team, an unconfirmed intelligence source informed this daily. Some 35 people including doctors and officials from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) are with the PM. National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and Naga peace talk interlocutor RN Ravi will be accompanying Modi’s Nagaland two-day visit, the sources added.
Meanwhile, the Nagaland government is hosting a ‘state dinner’ in honour of the Prime Minister at Chumukedima police complex (NAPTC). A gala cultural programme is being arranged for the VVIP guest where Governor PB Acharya, chief minister TR Zeliang, Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio, Rajya Sabha MP Khekiho Zhimomi, State assembly speaker, council of ministers, parliamentary secretaries and other top officials will be attending.
