DIMAPUR — In a major boost to passenger safety and hygiene, Dimapur Railway Station has been awarded the ‘Eat Right Station’ certification by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
An update from the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) on Sunday informed that the certification—valid from October 24, 2025 to October 23, 2027—was granted after a comprehensive audit of food stalls, catering units and food handlers at the station.
The assessment covered strict compliance with food safety norms, hygienic preparation and storage, proper waste management, and the availability of nutritious food options for passengers.
“This recognition has been conferred after a comprehensive audit of food stalls, catering units and food handlers at the station,” it stated.

In another notable achievement, four stations under the Alipurduar Division of NFR—Alipurduar, Kokrajhar, Golakganj and New Mal Junction—have also received the ‘Eat Right Station’ certification for meeting FSSAI’s benchmarks.
The NFR attributed the success to coordinated efforts by station management teams, health inspectors, catering units and authorised vendors, who worked collectively to maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
The ‘Eat Right Station’ certification is part of FSSAI’s nationwide Eat Right India campaign aimed at promoting safe, healthy and sustainable food practices.
Northeast Frontier Railway reaffirmed its commitment to further upgrading passenger facilities and ensuring the availability of safe and hygienic food across its stations.
