Dimapur, Jan. 25: Dimapex-19, a two-day Dimapur philatelic exhibition, held at Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School (LFHSS) concluded on January 25 with the chairman of LFHSS, Andrew Ahoto, as the guest of honour.
Dimapex-19 was organised by the department of posts, Government of India.
Speaking on the occasion, Andrew Ahoto encouraged the students to take up other activities as hobby apart from their education. Lamenting that the world has changed to such an extent, in which many students had forgotten about what a stamp is in present times, he encouraged the students to start all over again and not be lost in the world of technology.
Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Lima Aier Higher Secondary School, Maple Tree School, and Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School from Dimapur and Sainik School Punglwa from Peren district have participated in the event.
In the philately exhibition contest, Aaron Akivito Yepthomi from LFHSS, Dimapur, bagged the first prize, while Akash Kumar Prasad from LFHSS, Dimapur, and Gavin Sangma from LFHSS, Dimapur, were awarded the second and third prizes respectively.
In the stamp design competition, the contest was carried out in three different categories: (A) From primary level to Class VII, (B) from Classes VIII to X, and (C) from Classes XI and XII.
The first prize in the A category was awarded to Ayushi Bhowae from LFHSS, Dimapur; while the second prize went to Penyu Longchar from LFHSS, Dimapur; and Likhum Longkumar from Maple Tree School, Dimapur, bagged the third prize.
In category B, Abhinav Anand from Sainik School Punglwa, Peren, won the first prize; while the second prize was won by Rishita Deka from LFHSS, Dimapur; and Lovsang Zoiva from Sainik School Punglwa, Peren, won the third position.
In category C, Shingya from LFHSS, Dimapur, bagged the first prize; while Raphane KS from Maple Tree School, Dimapur, and Sarigo Muivah from LFHSS, Dimapur, won the second and third prizes respectively.
