Digital vegetables rate chart inaugurated in New Market

Dimapur, Sep. 24(EMN): Digital board for vegetable rates installed by the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) at New Market was officially launched on Friday by the additional deputy commissioner (ADC), H Atokhe Aye.

DMC administrator, Albert Ezung, informed that the rate chart would be displayed everyday for the benefit of the consumers. He shared that the technology was arranged in a way so that they would collect all the rate of the vegetables and fruits daily and then work from their office and be displayed on the digital board.

He further updated that they are in the process of installing more boards in the main market areas, which would be followed by installing similar boards at the Murgi Patti and Old Market area in Dimapur.

According to Ezung, the initiative was to empower consumers in knowing the rates of different items in the market. He appealed to the citizens to make use of the helpline number provided at the board whenever they have any complains.

Also speaking at the programme, Atokhe appealed to the citizens to develop a sense of cleanliness. He underlined the important roles of public to develop the city and make it clean and healthy.

Stating that DMC is trying its best to clean Dimapur city, he has sought cooperation from the public and to pay the residential sanitary tax to the DMC.
