Differently-abled children receive aids, appliances in Diphu
DIPHU— A total of 114 differently-abled children of elementary level and eight children of secondary level of various educational blocks of Karbi Anglong received appliances from Samagra Siksha, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) during a district-level ceremonial distribution of aids and appliances for beneficiaries (CWSN) at Dimasa Club, Diphu on Saturday.
Executive Member (EM), KAAC, Education Richard Tokbi distributed appliances including tricycles, wheelchairs, CP chairs, elbow crutches, rollators, MSIED kits, smart cane, braille kits and smartphones.
The EM said the SSA is providing such aids and appliances to physically challenged children to give them support in their education and normal life activities.
‘It is to help them live independently and to enforce their participation in routine activities like other children,’ the EM said.
The programme was conducted by District Programme Officer, IE component, SSA, Mayadi Hasnu and attended by Joint Secretary, KAAC and District Mission Coordinator, SSA, Nirupuma Timungpi; Assistant District Mission Coordinator, Nayan Pathak; Block Mission Coordinator (BMC), Lumbajong Block, Robinson Kathar; BMC, Bokajan Block Rita Engtipi and BMC, Langsomepi Block, Lirbon Ronghangpi.
