DHS Tuensang conducts awareness on Covid-19

Dimapur, Sep. 3 (EMN): The District Health Society (DHS), Tuensang, conducted an information, education and communication (IEC) campaign on Covid-19 in 31 villages including health and wellness centres, six PHCs and thirteen sub-centres from August 15 to the 30th.

An update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Tuensang, stated that the camps were organised with an aimed at creating awareness relating to Covid-19 issues such as dispelling myths and misconceptions, prevention of stigma and discrimination apart from other general preventive measures. It stated that the villagers were also advised to regular practice hand hygiene, wear face mask in public places and maintain social distancing.

During the camps, villagers were made aware of the different health services provided under the health and wellness centre and also encouraged to avail medical services at the health centre.
