Dimapur, Feb. 15 (EMN): The village council of Dhansiripar has on Monday condemned the alleged raid of the residence of Kishore Jeedung of Dhansiripar village on Feb. 10 at around 11:10 am. A statement issued by the Dhansiripar Village Council has claimed that the raid was conducted “without any valid reason” by a combined team of ‘Assam Rifles (Camp Doyapur) including Assam Police and Black Panthers with sophisticated weapons of Assam (Deployed at Dhansiri Police out post) Karbi Anglong (Assam)’. “To our best knowledge, the incumbent citizen Shri Kishore Jeedung of our village have no involvement relating to any crimes / anti social elements in any matter,” it read.

Meanwhile, the NSCN (IM), in a statement issued by its MIP, termed the actions of the Assam Rifles “an eyesore of the Indo-Naga ceasefire.”

NSCN (IM) accused the AR of trying to ‘smear’ the NSCN in a ‘bad light’.

It further claimed that the Kishore Jeedung, executive member of the steering committee at Dhansiripar, was charged with “baseless allegation of involvement in the recent DHD new and old DHD clashes in Assam”.

“The Dhansiripar Village Council, however, testified that Kishore Jeedung is not a person to be involved in such criminal activities as they know him well from a close angle. The village council had taken a strong exception why Kishore should be targeted for no reason,” it added.
