Kohima, July 28 (EMN): The Nagaland director general of police (DGP), T John Longkumer, has congratulated the superintendent of police, Kohima, Kevithuto Sophie and his team for the successful detection and arrest of five hardened criminals and recovery of INR 16,61,700 on July 26.
Following the arrest, the team also recovered two small arms, one magazine and four live rounds, extortion slips and other incriminating materials on July 26 in relation to Kohima North PS case no.0030/2020 U/S 392/34 IPC R/W 25 1(A) 1(B) Arms Act dated July 23rd, 2020.
In a congratulatory note, the DGP has expressed immense joy, pride and satisfaction at the tremendous work performed by the Kohima Police in exhibiting their investigative skills, professionalism, alacrity, dedication and devotion to duty in cracking the heinous act of robbery by an unscrupulous gang of armed miscreants in the dead of the night.
“The most remarkable aspect of the investigation was the fact that, all the accused involved in the crime and recovery of the stolen property was done in less than 72 hours,” Longkumer stated. It amply demonstrates that the officers and men involved in the investigation worked tirelessly without sleep and beat exhaustion till the objectives were met, he added.
Longkumer further observed that “the quality of investigation and detection of crime by Nagaland Police has been consistently on the rise and second to none, it is indication of increase in expertise and professionalism among the rank and file and augurs well for the future of Nagaland Police”.
The DGP has further directed the SP of Kohima to submit list of all the officers and men involved in the investigation to the PHQ for suitable rewards and service book entries in recognition of the exemplary work done by each and every personnel involved.
