DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 18: Director General Assam Rifles (DGAR), Lt. Gen. HJS Sachdeva, called upon all officers and men to uphold the rich traditions of the force and to maintain highest standards of professional conduct and moral uprightness as the true ‘Sentinels of the Northeast.’
The Director General Assam Rifles (DGAR) said this during his visit to the Assam Rifles Training Centre & School, Shokhuvi, on September 14. He was given guard of honor and briefed about the training and administrative aspects of the Centre by Brigadier Gurjap Singh, Commandant ARTC & S.
The General expressed happiness on his visit to the premier training establishment of the Assam Rifles and exhorted all officers and men to uphold the rich traditions of the force and to maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and moral uprightness.
He also congratulated the Centre on winning the 1st position in the North East Inter CPO Debate Competition on Human Rights. He emphasised on quality training of the men so that they become brave soldiers and better citizens of the nation. He also encouraged them to be upright and honest in every spheres of life and be the true ‘Sentinels of the North East.’ He assured his full support towards improving the training infrastructure and expressed his desire to enhance the living standards and facilities for all ranks in keeping with the present environment.
He honoured the jawans by presenting the Director General Assam Rifles Commendation Cards to the meritorious and deserving personnel and promoted Rifleman Wangtham Lammaty of DGAR Equestrian Team to the rank of Havildar for winning prestigious medals at international events and bringing fame to Assam Rifles.
He also presented a three wheeler scooter to Warrant Officer, Mani Tomba Singh, of 37 Assam Rifles, who lost his leg in IED blast while he was on duty in Manipur.
