DFL: Vizheto FC suppresses A1 Power Play; Chanan and Alianza settles for a draw

(EM Images)[/caption] Eastern Mirror Desk Dimapur, Sep. 29: P Vizheto FC defeated A1 Power Play Club 3-1 during day-6 of the ongoing Dimapur Football League (DFL) season 1 that is being conducted at the Dimapur District Sports Complex (DDSC) stadium in Dimapur on Saturday. In the first match, Kakheir of P Vizheto FC scored a goal during the 14th minute of the first half. But the lead was cut short by Yhunshalo of A1 Power Play Club who delivered a counter goal in the 42nd minute of the second half. This made P Vizheto FC build a strong wall of defence which paralysed the strikers of A1 Power Play Club. The second goal for P Vizheto FC was scored by Akum by a rolling ball after the goalkeeper of A1 Power Play Club, Ikiho, went out of the penalty box while trying to grab hold of the ball. The final goal was also scored by Akum during the 68th minute. A short programme was conducted before the commencement of the second match. The executive engineer of Public Health Engineering department, Zunheboto division, Kitoshe Aye, was the match patron for the day. Aye encouraged the players to focus on the targets and ambitions that have been set in their lives. “You have been journeying for so many days, nights, months, and years to bring out that talent in you, to hold your muscles and to bring about that quality that lies deep within you. That is the beauty of your life and that is what you see in you now today,” he asserted. While advising the players to understand the purpose of life, he motivated them to maintain discipline in order to achieve their targets. One of the organising committee members, Imli Walling, also spoke during the event assured the audience that the members will contribute in raising overall standard of football to a higher level in the spirit of a sportsmanship. He was also positive that the members will raise players to the nationals as well as the international fields. The second match was played between Chanan FC and FC Alianza. The match ended in a 1-1 draw. A quick goal was scored by Crispin of Chanan FC in the 2nd minute. It was later parried by Laiwang of FC Alianza in the 14th minute. Both the teams played defensively during the second half and were successful in fending off the strikers. The match unexpectedly ended with a draw after the final whistle from the referee. Day-7 of the DFL will be conducted on Friday Oct. 5. The first match will be played between A1 Power Play Club and Ekhyo FC at 1 pm. The second match will be between played Chanan FC and Titan SCC at 3:30 pm.
