Dimapur, Aug. 26 (EMN): Appreciating the selfless services rendered by the frontline workers especially during this time of pandemic, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, who is also in-charge of Home department, expressed concern over the August 21 incident involving a doctor and IRB personnel in Dimapur and assured justice to the case.

In a statement on Wednesday, Patton asserted that the state government has taken strong exception of the incident and has immediately set up an independent inquiry committee headed by an officer in the rank of commissioner and secretary with two senior officers, to look into the details of the case and to submit its report within four days.

On receiving the committee report, he said the government will examine and shall initiate necessary action to anyone found guilty as per the laid down procedures and the law of the land.

‘The principle of natural justice and rule of law is prerequisite consideration before initiating action,’ he added.

He further appealed to all sections of society to co-operate with the government in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
