The establishment of the deputy chief minister issued a press release on Monday informing about the event. Patton said that “25th year is a long time” and that he considers jubilee a blessing “so we need to praise and thank our almighty God for his wonderful grace.” According to the updates, the minister called jubilee a time to ‘receive and seek blessings from God.’ “He added that, it is his hope and prayer that, this glorious celebration will bring more plentiful blessings to St. Thomas Catholic Church in particular and people of Doyang as a whole.” However, there was a nag that the press release explained was Patton’s concern: “Intoxicating substance.” In his address, the press release stated, “Patton also urged upon the people to abstain from indulging and using intoxicating substances as it brings more problem and chaos in our present society.” To the students’ community, Patton exhorted them not to be complacent in their studies “but to inculcate the work culture and concentrate more on their duties with full dedication in order to excel in life.” He wished St. Thomas Catholic Church at Doyang to “bring more blessings through this silver jubilee celebration,” the press release stated. Earlier, Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Nagaland, dedicated the jubilee’s monolith at St. Thomas Catholic Church, which was also unveiled by the deputy chief minister.
