DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 9 : The state’s department of Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection has been accused of providing “wrong and incomplete information” to an RTI query filed by a group by the name of Public Service Aspirants of Nagaland (PSAN).
On Friday, the ‘media cell’ of PSAN issued a press release stating “strong opposition towards the wrong and incomplete information provided by the Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection Department against the RTI filed by us.”
The PSAN stated that the ““wrong and incomplete information” provided by the department concerned was “in contrast to the information provided to the Chief Information Commission, Nagaland by the department in 2015.”
It has alleged that the department concerned did not list the name of five employees in the reply to the PSAN’s RTI query. “The PSAN will take further course of action by writing a complaint letter to the Chief Information Commissioner to take action against the department for providing our wrong and incomplete information.
“At the same time, we caution other departments to sincerely furnish the information sought from them so as to avoid further complication and the wrath of thousands of educated unemployed young Nagas,” it stated.
