Dimapur, Feb. 4 (EMN): The department of Sericulture, govt. of Nagaland organised co-ordination meeting at Directorate Conference Hall in Kohima on Jan. 3.
Addressing the meeting, Zhaleo Rio, Advisor, Sericulture, Excise and Minority Affairs, govt. of Nagaland reminded about policies and programmes of the govt. to give more focus on the development of Sericulture for rural up-lifting and employment generation, saying that the state is blessed with favourable climatic condition, an update from the director informed.
While encouraging the department, he also advised to identify potential farmers among the targeted groups and have Sericulture blocks in all the districts. He called upon the district officers to be regular in DPDB meeting in their respective districts.
Meanwhile, Orenpomo Kikon, Comm. and Secretary asked the departmental officers and staff to be sincere and co-ordinated.
It said that during the meeting, power point presentation focusing on the achievements of the present year and action plan for the coming year 2022-23 was presented by all the district Sericulture officers.
The meeting was chaired by Mhathung Kikon, Addl. Director, while the vote of thanks was delivered by T Yanger Ao, Joint Director, and T Sanny Pongener, Director of Sericulture gave the welcome address, it added.
