Departments bid farewell to outgoing officers

Dimapur, Oct. 31 (EMN): Departments of Soil and Water Conservation and the Environment, Forest and Climate Change have bade farewell to the outgoing officers on October 31 in their respective offices.
Department of Soil and Water Conservation: Department of Soil and Water Conservation organised a farewell programme in honour of its retiring project director, Dr. Kiyasetuo Vizo, and the superintendent, S Chubalila, on October 31 in the conference hall of its directorate.

Speaking on the occasion, the director congratulated the retiring officers for their services rendered towards the department. He also shared his experiences with the retiring officer whom he considered as one of the tallest officers the department has ever had.

Dr. Vizo, in his farewell address, recalled his days when he first joined the department as a young officer and his journey till his retirement. He attributed all successful in his career to the sacrifices made by his wife. He also lauded the enthusiasm of young and dynamic officers in the department for all the achievements made during his tenure.

Also speaking on the occasion, S Chubalila urged everyone to work together for progress of the department. She stressed that one must experience failures in life so that they learn and improvise in later walks of life.

The programme was chaired by SK Hekshe, joint director, while the vote of thanks was delivered by K Zhekheto Awomi, additional director.

Forest department: Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change bade farewell to the outgoing Principal Chief Conservator of Forest & Head of Forest Force, Rajat Subhra Pal, on October 31.

Rajat Subhra Pal, an Indian Forest Service officer of the 1986 batch, had served the state with distinction for 33 years and two months. The officer was lauded for the meritorious service rendered to the department and the state by all the speakers in the function.

The retiring officer, in his farewell speech, recalled the time when he first joined the state in 1989. Stating that he would leave the state with fond memories, he has particularly appreciated the ingenuity of the Nagas in resolving conflicts.

He has advised to maintain better communication between seniors and subordinate officers for a better coordination.

Also speaking on the occasion, principal and head of forest force designate, Lhoubeilatuo Kire, recalled the probationary period spent with Rajat Subhra Pal. He stated that Rajat Pal had helped streamline the administrative system in the department during a short period as the head of forest force. He congratulated the retiring officer on completion of a long and successful career.
