DEOs schedule second phase training for poll personnel

DIMAPUR — In preparation for the upcoming general election to the 18th Lok Sabha, deputy commissioners (DCs) and district election officers (DEOs) across the districts have scheduled the second phase of training for polling personnel.

Kohima: DC and DEO Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant, has informed all the officials and staff appointed as polling personnel that the second round of training for presiding officers, first polling officers, second polling officers, and third polling officers for 8 Western Angami AC, 9 Kohima Town AC, and 10 Northern Angami-I AC will be held on April 5 at 10 am at Kohima College, Billy Graham Road, Kohima, according to a DIPR report.

For the presiding officers, first polling officers, second polling officers, and third polling officers of 11 Northern Angami-II AC, 14 Southern Angami-I AC, and 15 Southern Angami-II AC, the training is scheduled for April 6 at 10 am at Kohima College, Billy Graham Road, Kohima.

The order further directed all concerned polling officials to take note of the date and attend the training without fail to avoid disciplinary action.

Noklak: The DC and DEO of Noklak, Arikumba, has informed all government employees drafted for polling duty under Noklak that the second-phase training will be conducted from 10 am onwards on April 9 at GHSS Noklak.

All concerned have been asked to be present without fail. 

Zunheboto: Zunheboto DC and DEO, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, have also issued a schedule for poll-related training sessions for Zunheboto district.

The report noted that the second randomisation of electronic voting machines (EVMs) and voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) and training for poll-bound micro-observers (first round) will be held on April 8.

The training for postal vote casting and counting personnel and counting micro-observers (first round) will be conducted on April 10.

The second phase of training for selected polling personnel will be conducted on April 12. Training for poll-bound micro observers for the second round will take place on April 15. The third phase of training for selected polling personnel is scheduled for April 16.

The third and final round of polling personnel (PS-wise) will occur in the presence of a general observer on April 17.
